Adapted from the popular children's book of the same name, this spoof on the tale of the three little pigs (each with their own individual sense of home construction style) who were pursued by a ravenous wolf, aims to show a different side of the familiar story. In the biggest trial to hit Piggsylvania in quite some time, the Big Bad Wolf is trying to clear his name. Claiming to have been a victim of circumstance -- namely a particularly sneezy cold that caused him to inadvertently blow down some shabbily constructed homes while trying to borrow a cup of sugar -- it's up to you and your little ones to decide whether the Big Bad Wolf is as innocent as he claims to be in this fun, family-friendly musical. Fabulous! Script is poetry in motion & the actors appear effortless in transporting this creatively intriguing tale. I was fully engaged; there was plenty to follow. Much like a smart chess game.
And though long production, don't let that concern you. I was pleasantly surprised staying so highly involved & entertained. Large cast with one exceptional talent following the next. Not so much as ONE small detectable flub (given this was preview). From the set staging, costumes, acting and overall presentation...flawless.
Should've opened with this: One of the top shows I've seen this year & honestly, there's been more than I often can factually recount! SEE IT! You'll be charmed, immersed in figuring it out & blown away by this talent! And honestly, if more scripts mirrored this (now THIS is writing!), everyone would work hard to dig & scrape to attend theater.
"My own love! With all your wealth, and all your beauty, how friendless you are!" Trapped in a loveless marriage and threatened by a conspiracy of ruthless men, young heiress Laura Fairlie faces a future of sorrow and misery. Her only hope lies with her true love, the poor artist Walter Hartright, and her sister Marian Halcombe, both of whom will risk everything to protect her. Without the law, society, or money on their side, Walter and Marian must race against time to free their beloved Laura and uncover the truth behind the mysterious woman in white that shares her face. A dark tale of romance and suspense, in a world premiere adaptation.
Based on the novel by Wilkie Collins
