Edward Albee's Comedic One-Act Play, The Zoo Story
Edward Albee is one of the great writers of American theater, winner of three Pulitzer Prizes among other accolades. Best known for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, he's also written several other outstanding plays, including The Zoo Story, which was his first. It's a gripping confrontation between Peter, a well-off, well-intentioned family man leading a life of quiet desperation, and Jerry, a rootless drifter alienated from the human race and with no patience for complacency. The two meet in a park; one has a story to share, and the other just wants to be left alone. Norman Mailer called it "the best f***ing one-act I've ever seen!"
