The play follows the career of a first year fifth grade teacher in South Central LA. Mr. Fry is multifaceted as he captures all the absurdities, tragedies and subtleties that urban teachers face in his portayals of students, the administration and the school system at large. I rate this teacher and performance as highly qualified.

This was a great evening. As a teacher, I could totally relate to the story and feelings. I was so impressed with his ability to play different characters. We went the last weekend and I'm so sorry I couldn't get all of my collegues to see this show. Such an important message for educators, parents and anyone that values children.

This is the second show I've seen at this venue that received stellar reviews on Goldstar and that I found entirely underwhelming. The story wasn't compelling or thought-provoking or unique, and the acting was ... too much. There were a couple moments when he spoke genuinely (not "in character") and those were the most interesting moments, when he was most likable and relatable. The end was touching, but the rest was lukewarm at best. I'm glad I didn't pay full price.

Wasn't funny at all and mostly boring. It took everything I had not to fall asleep. If the crowd wasn't so small I would've left early.
