Some of Chicago's funniest and most talented performers gather at Lincoln Park's Apollo Studio Theater for Thirsty Improv, an improvised comedy drinking show. On tap each week is an all-new original performance, as a rotating cast of veterans from Second City, iO, ComedySportz and more take numerous audience suggestions to craft unique scenes, drinking games, songs and more -- all while imbibing various forms of alcohol. Spectators are welcome -- and even encouraged -- to play along with the performers, as long as they're of drinking age.

Thirsty was a rollicking good time! The experienced cast was extremely entertaining and the audience involvement was definitely a highlight. Adding to the hilarious show were a generous bartender and a skilled sound man. I recommend this hands down, bottoms up!

There was a group of 5 of us, and we had a blast. Great group participation, and I was even part of a segment of the show. I highly suggest this, and would see it again since the show will be different each time.

Description

Each original performance this season will feature more audience suggestions for lines of dialogue, character quirks, historical figures, and drinking games. Audience members often join the cast on stage for games and a song. As usual, there is no script or safety net for the cast, and no two shows are the same. This season will also feature a new “Wheel of Consequences,” a new roulette wheel-style drinking game the audience can play with the cast.

With two performances weekly, that’s twice as many scenes, songs and shots to be consumed in the course of the week. With the new additions to the cast for the upcoming season, Thirsty now boasts a cast of veterans with experience at Second City, iO, Mayne Stage and ComedySportz, as well as other various stages in and around the city.

Friday's Cast: John Pantlind, Zach Zimmerman, Lisa Witmer, Steve Persch, Caleb George

Saturday's Cast: Eric Muller, Katie Dufrense, Rob Speer, Ryan Williams, Rebecca Slack, Neil O'Callaghan

Since 2009, Chicago's best and brightest comedic improvisers have been taking to the stage for an interactive show unlike any other. The city's reigning improv drinking champions compete for laughs and drinks in a show best described as Whose Line is it Anyway? meets boxed wine. It's fast-paced fun for the whole family to enjoy (provided everyone in your family is of legal drinking age).

Thirsty is the perfect night out for the party of any size, whether it be a bachelor/bachelorette or birthday party, an anniversary or date night, and is perfect way to kick off or wrap up a night on the town.
