Award-winning Chicago stage veteran Roslyn Alexander fills the fascinating shoes of fearless activist Emma Goldman in this new solo drama that explores the passions behind the controversial figure's political agitation and the price she was willing to pay for it. A charismatic speaker and organizer, Goldman threatened the turn-of-the-century status quo with her liberal views on social issues and women's rights, but became infamous as an anarchist who advocated free love and who was jailed several times for demonstrating contraceptives, inciting to riot and opposing the draft. Dennis Zacek directs for the ShPIeL Theatre. Learn More

A fantastic mash-up of busty glam and bawdy burlesque! A fantastic cast truly excels at keeping the comedy and entertainment flowing, all the while singing and dancing to original music. Great concept! This is a troupe of commediennes to keep your eyes on, Chicago!
The venue, Cabaret space at Stage 773, left a bit to be desired (even considering a recent renovation) Perhaps a few curtains could dress the space a bit more effectively.

The hilarious harlots of Off Off Broadzway get into the Halloween spirit with their latest musical sketch comedy show! This burlesque-parody revue features the five Broadz and their gloriously creepy ringmaster slaying the audience with sharp writing, catchy songs and anything-goes humor. Sequins and dirty jokes abound in a non-reveal performance that is not for the faint of heart. Elements of ballet, literary references and fire breathing will not be in this show.
