Of course this is an excellent play so it requires a great performance. All the performers were terrific--good delivery, timing, and excellent in bringing out the many comical moments. I highly recommend Greenhouses's production of "You Never Can...continued

First rate play. Good story, a lot of fun. Sometimes the forced accents can be tough to follow. Very good acting - even the scenery changes are entertaining. Strongly recommend.

The play was a gem and the presentation world class. Would more theatres unearthed the many gems buried by oversight. I would truly love to see this company perform works such as G.K. Chesterton's play Magic. If nothing else, it would beat the...continued

Potentially good performance ruined by hostile, antagonistic reception by staff at Greenhouse venue. I've bumped my rating up a little higher than I'd meant to, out of respect to production people who really tried to make show worthwhile, but an...continued

Acting was consistently good and the dialogue was fairly witty. The nature of the play for today's audiences is not as engaging as it would have been in an earlier time. Although the scenery was minimal, it was effective.

Although very old-fashioned, the script is lively and funny. The cast is perfect, each person perfect for his or her role. Direction is crisp and lively. Lots and lots of fun.

A very good production of this little known George Bernard Shaw comedy! We really enjoyed seeing Dale Benson, long-time Chicago funnyman, in the role of the waiter. We remember him from his old Candlelight/Forum days.

Excellent production. Superb performances. A work that should be produced more often.

Although this was the first preview and a few lines were flubbed, the vehicle (Shaw) is so delightful and the acting so spot-on that we hardly noticed. Excellent seats, too.

Mr. Shaw does tend to go on and on, and certainly he stresses ideas, some of his plays stress ideas more rapidly, this play is too wordy.
The acting was wonderful, of course Mr. Benson is a Chicago treasure and his career a tribute to a "life in...continued

I enjoyed this performance. It is Shaw so it is a little wordy but that is to be expected. Actors were terrific. I laughed a lot even if the story really didn't make much sense.

I never could tell what the purpose of the play was - there was a political and social message interwoven as typical of Shaw but the plot seemed ridiculous and perhaps it was due to the play written in 1899 and it's now 2012. Petty and silly, and...continued

Mostly solid performances. Not Shaw's best work, however.

My husband & I are visiting from Boston and we took our Chicago daughter. We enjoyed the play very much. The performers were excellent. The young people playing the two younger children were vital and full of life. All the actors did a fine job...continued
