Anonymous Member a delightful and nostalgic look at Groucho...excellent acting and singing and very touching performance by actor portraying Groucho. He was at his best in portraying the later years rather than earlier years.
David Balk Great performance, the actors did a great job. |

Event Highlights
More Details About This Event: The greasepaint mustache and arching eyebrows… the loping walk and waving cigar… the rolling eyes. Unmistakably the one, the only Groucho Marx.
Groucho Marx was recently declared by Time Magazine as the greatest American comedian of the twentieth century. To celebrate this icon’s impact on comedy and the world of entertainment, OnStage Playhouse will present Groucho: A Life in Revue, the award-winning stage production highlighting the legendary comedian’s life and amazing career. Written by the ultimate authority – Groucho’s son Arthur Marx – this award-winning comedy with music chronicles the unparalleled rags-to-riches story of America’s funniest entertainer. Relive the memories of Groucho, Harpo and Chico, Animal Crackers, You Bet Your Life, horns honking, eyebrows-raising, piano key shooting, and chorus girls dancing. Charley Miller returns to OnStage Playhouse to portray Groucho Marx from age 15 to 85. He will be joined by Michael Dean Grulli, Paul Schaffer, Rebecca Seubert, Jarrod Weintraub and Kelly Wood. Directing OnStage Playhouse’s production will be Bob Christiansen who helmed last season’s “Come Blow Your Horn”, the winner of San Diego ACT’s Aubrey Award for Best Production of a Comedy. Christiansen also serves on the Board of Directors at OnStage Playhouse. Desmond Hassing and Daniel Zisko will co-produce. About OnStage Playhouse: OnStage Playhouse is the only live community theatre in Chula Vista, the second largest city in San Diego County. It operates year-round, producing six or more superior plays per year. OnStage has an intimate theater seating 60 playgoers, located near 3rd and F in downtown Chula Vista. |
