In honor of its 40th anniversary, acclaimed a cappella group Sweet Honey in the Rock presents its most ambitious live performance to date in Forty and Fierce. Led by noted director-choreographer Dianne McIntyre, the group's first scripted show features medleys of some of Sweet Honey's most popular songs, special guest musicians and intimate personal stories about the group's history from each member. With rousing a cappella renditions of spirituals, gospel, blues, reggae, hip-hop and jazz standards, the five-voice choir of African-American women captures the transcendent harmonies and driving rhythms of the black experience with an inspiring message of social justice. The group recently performed at the national memorial service for Nelson Mandela and has sung at the White House and collaborated with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Learn More
