In honor of its 40th anniversary, acclaimed a cappella group Sweet Honey in the Rock presents its most ambitious live performance to date in Forty and Fierce. Led by noted director-choreographer Dianne McIntyre, the group's first scripted show features medleys of some of Sweet Honey's most popular songs, special guest musicians and intimate personal stories about the group's history from each member. With rousing a cappella renditions of spirituals, gospel, blues, reggae, hip-hop and jazz standards, the five-voice choir of African-American women captures the transcendent harmonies and driving rhythms of the black experience with an inspiring message of social justice. The group recently performed at the national memorial service for Nelson Mandela and has sung at the White House and collaborated with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Learn More

I brought my husband and 4 children to the show and we had a wonderful time. The kids range from 11 to 16 and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. While the entire cast was extremely talented, our favorites were Gomez and Uncle Fester. My kids have never seen an Addams television episode but quickly understood the unique perspective the Addams bring to family life. We decided it was a fantastically kooky way to spend Easter Sunday. Thank you!
Running time is 2 hours and 35 minutes, with one intermission.
Late seating is at the discretion of the house manager and only during appropriate pauses in the performance.
