Regarded by many as the top interpreters of Jamaican music in the U.S. , New York City band The Slackers play what they like to call "Jamaican rock 'n' roll." Though longtime fans of Jamaican musical styles like ska and reggae, this band is equally influenced by American music traditions, including rock 'n' roll, R&B, jazz, country and blues. Resisting the common view of ska music as ever-happy and lacking depth, The Slackers don't hesitate to play with aggression or change up their music's themes, and have opened for many top bands, including Rancid, Flogging Molly and The Pogues. Caz & The Day Laborers and The Evokatones open the show. Learn More

The Scorpions _HAVE_ been around for a while, so though their stage antics may not have been as energetic or as intricate as it has been in the past, it was still a great show. The stage show itself was great, and Klaus Meine's voice and the rest of the music was pitch perfect. Even after all the years of performing, these guys still put on a great live music show.

Champions of hard rock and heavy metal, Scorpions know how to dazzle the ears and eyes with some over-the-top rockin'. As part of their "Final Sting" tour, the band is playing their final shows ever before they scurry off into the sunset (or something picturesque like that). Practice your air guitar solos, chop off those t-shirt sleeves, and purchase neck insurance immediately. When Scorpions play Merriweather this July, they're going to send their fans off with quite the bang.
