by Melynda Kiring makes its debut as a part of Butterfield 8 Theatre's New Work Series, a showcase of staged readings of new works by local playwrights. The ingredients for this sweetly romantic play are one self-sufficient female baker, one nobleman in need of a cook, one sweet young lady, and one dashing hero. Preheat to the year 1835, mix the characters well, and be ready to enjoy a delicious tale featuring secret plots, good food, more secret plots, bad food, heroic duels and plenty of perfectly prepared corn muffins.
