Theater906's production sets this classic play on the seaside to examine what it means when a whole society's hands are steeped in blood, and all our castles are built on shifting sands. The popular King Duncan is murdered by his trusted kinsman Macbeth who then must contend with his conscience, his ambitious wife, the influence of three witches and a growing conspiracy. Murder follows murder in this latest production helmed by director Emily C. A. Snyder (Hamlet, The Tempest).

The performance is 2hrs 45min but the cast is well rehearsed and they put forth a lot of energy so no problem staying engaged. We were a bit confused at the outset by cast members playing multiple roles but knew the story well enough to understand what they were doing.Written on Mar 12 2012

This was by far the worst performance of Shakespeare I have ever seen performed. The acting was overly dramatic and bipolar -- yelling at one moment, whispering the next, and practically dry humping a second later. There were only about 10 actors, so they each had to play multiple roles, and they didn't even change costumes to make it easier to follow. The director seemingly made random decisions. We left midway, and I was embarassed that I brought my friends with me.Written on Mar 12 2012

An excellent performance! Only draw-back was the accoustics. Not all of the voices were adequately amplified.Written on Mar 09 2012

Setting the play at a seaside resort did not add anything to the dramatic effect of the play, at least one of the actors didn't speak clearly enough to be understood. I left at intermission.Written on Mar 27 2012
