Singer-Songwriter Patty Larkin: Benefit for The Nature Connection
A talent so far ahead of the pack that she shouldn't even be put in a standard category, standout singer-songwriter Patty Larkin brings her signature sound to Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts. The show will benefit the The Nature Connection, which brings educational and therapeutic nature programs to people with limited access to the natural world. An Iowa native who calls Cape Cod home, Larkin combines acoustic guitar mastery with her evocative vocals and poetic, urban-folk/pop songs that draw on everything from Bob Dylan to Dylan Thomas, anti-folk to pop-rock and bossa nova.

Here, Kushner creates a cosmic-scale portrait of legendary characters, including ancient rabbis, blind revolutionaries, imaginary travel agents and, of course, angels, set against a backdrop of old relationships ending while new, unexpected ones begin, amid questions of morality, guilt and forgiveness.
