The feuding Futrelle sisters put the "fun" in dysfunction in Dearly Beloved, the hilarious and heart-warming production at Coronado Playhouse. The rumor mill in Fayro, Texas, has been working overtime from the moment the sisters started planning the "wedding of the century." No surprise there -- the sisters have been Town Topic No. 1 since the breakup of their almost-famous gospel singing group, The Sermonettes. But now caught up in a Texas twister of gossip, God and gunfire, they desperately attempt to pull off the Gone with the Wind-themed nuptials ... even as the bride goes missing. Gary Cohen directs this Southern-fried comedy written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten. Learn More

It was a nice intimate performance with only 8 cast members altogether at the Coronado playhouse. The singing and acting were good. I'd say the story line and screenplay were the parts lacking. It was a musical meant for little children and fell short on depth of characters and had too much stereotypes at play. It was decent, I may go again with kids.
