Seven pioneer women gather to socialize as they sew a quilt in Quilters. A quilt comes together scrap by scrap, piece by piece, in this unique expression of folk art where each patch makes up a facet -- girlhood, marriage, childbirth, spinsterhood, twisters, fire, illness and death -- of a complete tableau. Quilters, a musical with book, music and lyrics by Barbara Damashek, was nominated for the Tony Award for best musical of 1985 and has been a popular favorite in theaters across the country. The Hilarious Bluegrass Gospel Celebration!
The Great Depression is coming to an end, and the Sanders Family Singers are back on the road again. But after this night, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church will never be the same.
A hit this spring and summer when it played at the Horton Grand, the production has transferred to the Lamb’s Players Theatre.
