The game is afoot once again for master detective Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick Dr. Watson, with the added perk of steampunk-style design on display in the innovative sets and costumes. As for the story itself, the intrepid investigating duo are drawn into a case of blackmail, with a fetching opera singer at its center. And after many a diabolical twist and even a romantic turn, it all leads to a long-awaited final showdown with Holmes' arch-nemesis Professor Moriarty. Adapted by Steven Dietz in 2006, this entertaining adventure pulls from an 1899 play by William Gillette and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and won an Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America. The Coronado Playhouse production plays on the steampunk aesthetic, which references Victorian England and its antiquated mechanics in new art and design. Learn More

I thought the leading lady lacked energy on most of her performance. The rest of the cast was fine. Choreography lacked cohesion at times. One of the songs was like cacophony. Everyone singing at the same time but different things. Not pleasant.
