Beethoven: The Late Great Finale
Beethoven: The Late Great Grand Finale
$20.00 - $25.00
$10.00 - $12.50*
The Philharmonic Society closes out its 60th anniversary season with the finale of their multi-year exploration of the life and music of Ludwig von Beethoven with an all-Orange County performance of the composer's triumphant Ninth Symphony and the West Coast premiere of Frieze
, a newly commissioned piece by Mark-Anthony Turnage. Frieze
is based on a painting by Gustav Klimt, which was itself inspired by Beethoven's iconic Ninth. The first movement of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 is also on the bill, set to be performed by exciting young pianist Marc Yu. Daniel Alfred Wachs conducts the Orange County Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Chapman Orchestra, the Chapman University Choir and Singers, the UCI choir and several vocal soloists for this special concert.
