The esteemed Haifa Symphony Orchestra, currently on its first tour of the U.S., makes a much-anticipated stop in Orange County for a concert featuring Weber's overture to the opera Euryanthe and Tchaikovsky's powerful Symphony No. 4. They'll also be joined by Israeli star soloist Roman Rabinovich, for Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2. Along with scoring the top prize at the 2008 Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition, Rabinovich has won several other prestigious awards, and recently released his first recording, Ballet Russes, to much acclaim. Principal guest conductor Boguslaw Dawidow, internationally renowned for his musical knowledge, immense enthusiasm and extraordinarily charismatic stage presence, wields the baton for this historic Northern Israeli ensemble, first established in 1950.
