These Four Clowns subscribe to the old adage that "laughter is the best medicine" through their high-energy performances. You will witness how the most tragic moments in one's life can give rise to the biggest laughs as the clowns -- Sad, Mischievous, Angry and Nervous -- tell their tales of woe and elation from childhood to adulthood. Their memories and audience interaction combine to fuel a show that culminates in a physical, musical and emotional journey into what it means to be human.

Anton's Uncles: A Fresh, Funny Take on a Chekhov Classic

Full Price:
$35.00
Our Price:
$17.50

This isn't your drama teacher's Chekhov. In Anton's Uncles, a fast-paced re-imagining of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, Theatre Movement Bazaar transforms this most cerebral of dramatists into an explosion of dance, movement and theatricality. Stripping the play down to its four male characters and augmenting Chekhov's original dialogue with new writing, music and choreography, Anton's Uncles reveals the unspoken truths and unexpressed desires of its complex characters in ways that will surprise and delight both Chekhov fans and those brand-new to his work. Winner of an Outstanding Theatre Award at the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Anton's Uncles is experimental theater at its freshest and funniest. Learn More

I see a lot of community theatre and this was the most offensive production I have ever seen. This was not the kind of community threatre that made you aware of what was happening in our own communities but we would prefer not to acknowledge. This was a production that laughed at and mocked child molestion by grammer school teachers, domestic abuse by siblings, infidelity in relationships, and suicide by hanging to name just a few of the highlights of this production. I do not see the humor in child molestation, domestic abuse, infidelity and suicide by hanging. I would like to believe that others would find this production equally offensive and embarassed that it would even be given an audience in our community.

Show is not funny. The actors are talented, but the material is trite, predictable and adolescent in appeal.
