Grammy-winning artist Jimmy Webb and vocalist Maureen McGovern (a.k.a. "The Stradivarius Voice") string together cherished standards and Oscar winners with classic hits from the iconic singers and songwriters of the '60s and '70s. Webb has had success in almost every genre of music, from country ("Wichita Lineman," "The Highwayman") to pop and disco ("MacArthur Park," "Up, Up and Away"), and penned hits for artists like Sinatra, Streisand, R.E.M., Linda Ronstadt, The Supremes and countless more. McGovern scored two Oscars for "The Morning After" from The Poseidon Adventure (1972) and "We May Never Love Like This Again" from The Towering Inferno (1974). The New York Times proclaims McGovern as "blessed with a vocal technique second to none" and says that Webb is "at the top of his game." Learn More

A wonderful performance of song and dance. The John Alexander Singers are, without a doubt, one of the premier choral groups in the country. Their singing is of the highest quality and skill. More importantly, it's completely musical. The evening included beautiful arrangements of Irish tunes, some sad and others joyous. A small Irish dance ensemble performed interspersed in the program - they were so full of energy and completely entertaining. And, to complement the evening, an Irish band with fiddles and percussion entertained before the program and accompanied the group on a couple of numbers. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable evening of top-rate music. Thank you!
