Once began as a music-fueled indie film that won hearts in 2006, taking home the Best Original Song Oscar for its haunting love ballad "Falling Slowly." Now, Once has taken the Broadway stage by storm, earning eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The romantic tale follows a downtrodden Dublin street musician and a delightfully quirky Czech woman who meet in the least likely of places -- a vacuum cleaner repair shop. Their complicated lives make the path to love a rocky one, and they channel their feelings into the music they produce together -- him on guitar, her on piano, two voices harmonizing and setting them free, for a time, from the harsh realities of their lives. I loved the music - the actors - the songs.
What I didn't enjoy was the amount of stairs I had to climb just to use the restroom facilities which are only located on one side of the building.
True you can take an elevator to the 3 teir, but then you have to walk down four flights of stairs. My advice to anyone with any kind of breathing problem don't book tickets on the second or third teirs. I myself my asthma and had more than a little difficulty.
Once more I want to say the musical itself was delightful and I enjoyed it immenesly.
