A gorgeous, all-star ballet program. Entertaining and innovative choreography performed by arguably the world's best ballerinas. Beautiful!

I took my four year old to see her first non-Nutcracker ballet, and we both loved every second of it. She stayed awake until the end, and could not stop talking about it the next day. The music, especially the piano, was played wonderfully. I also really enjoyed the other Gold Star members seated around us! Thanks for allowing us to be able to afford this magical performance

Fabulous once in a lifetime production! I paid 50% of what others around me paid! The highest calliber ballerinas in an experimental project that exceeded my expectations.

The Bolshoi dancers were incredible -- so strong and graceful, and very well trained. They brought a lot to the dances, and were much more impressive than most modern dancers I've seen.

I didn't enjoy most of the choregraphy, except the Balanchine Pas de Trois, which stood out like a jewel. I've seen lots of non-classical-ballet dances that were amazing. I guess I just don't understand why the modern dance choreographers would think flexed and turned in feet are more attractive than the opposite, or why dancers' arms should lead with the elbows.

Also, the show was almost devoid of sets, and except for a couple of great dresses, the costumes were minimal...though they do reveal just how athletic and muscular the dancers are.

I loved the event! It was such a thrill to see the exquisite Bolshoi trained dancers. Although I prefer the classical ballet, this program was very interesting and enjoyable.

While the dancers were well trained, there was absolutely no connection or cohesiveness in the program between one piece and another. also, it was extremely long and I left after the second act after 2 hours.

I thought the performance was wonderful. The program was quite unique. I'm not sure how to interpret the choreography but I enjoyed it none the less. I will definitely go again.

Excellent! Glad I didn't miss this one! All the greats in one theater. Amazing show. Would see it twice but they are off to Moscow! Even though this was Tier 3- it was front - last row of front for us which is L. We could see, not facial expressions but the seats were just fine . We did bring binoculars. But no heads in front of you, the seats are staggered so the row in front of you is pretty low.

Our seats were better than expected, lower part of 3rd tier, and well worth the price.

The dancers were beautiful, but some clearly out of their element dancing modern ballet when they should stick to their expertise of classical.
A little too much 'furniture moving' (lifts) for me. Everyone of the ballerinas (a bit too thin) had incredible extensions, the men graceful and high in their jumps. Too bad the orchestra wasn't used more; a waste to have musicians sitting with taped music playing. Didn't need two intermissions; no scenery to move and minimal costuming to change.
The OCPAC shouldn't let latecomers in, to walk in front of everyone in the dark.

Dancers were fantastic but choreography was inconsistent and weak.

Beautiful performance! It was a mix of both the classical ballet style and more modern, "hip" dancing. Very fun to watch. Another review complained about the "gratuitous" clapping, etc. but I didn't find it that bad.

Wonderful show. My fiancee a former ballet student, Loved it. More security needed to remove the inconsiderate people that cannot put their iphones down to respect and enjoy the performance. Too many "I'm the most important person in the world" people in the audience. STAY HOME!

I would have enjoyed the program more without the gratuitous and infuriating audience "participation": applause before the end of a solo, and shouting more suited to a stadium than a theater. Is this unique to Orange County audiences, I wonder? The program itself was fascinating, as the dancers' techniques and the choreography were outstanding.

Absolutely magnificent! Truly stunning artistry. I appreciated that the show had something for everyone in that there were more traditional pieces as well as some very modern pieces. HIGHLY recommend the show to all audiences.

The " Reflections " ballet was enjoyable and well performed, which we expected of dancers who were trained by the Bolshoi. I especially liked Act II, which had short exhibitions by each of the dancers.

Quotes & Highlights

  • "Reflections, so named because it endeavors to express the thoughts and feelings of a new cohort of Russian ballerinas, promises a mash-up of great allure for balletomanes. It matches seven ballerinas — all graduates of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in their mid-20s who perform at superstar level, five in Russia, the rest in the West — with a tempting roster of hip choreographers"--Los Angeles Times
