We were initially bummed that Constantine was not performing, but his understudy did a great job! The story was light hearted and the tongue in cheek humor was well done. They made cliche story and characters fun with familiar music. musicians...continued

Having seen this 2 weeks ago with Constantine up in L.A. and enjoying it so much, I decided to see it again in Costa Mesa.

Constantine didn't perform last night. A swing performed the lead last night instead.

And the difference was night...continued

Rock of Ages is a light-hearted look at the Sunset Strip scene of the 80's steeped in the seedy underbelly of sex, drugs and rock-n-roll. The music is definitely the star, and the backing band is stellar, the leads are spirited and the dancing --...continued

Thought the show was good, not great. Had good seats but felt acoustics were not the best...some of the narrating was muffled.Singer that played "Regina" had an irritating, "screechy" voice. Biggest disappointment....understudy instead of...continued

It was a hot mess--the story was weak, the characters were not likable, and the songs felt random and sometimes out of place. I didn't care what happened to any of the characters, and I felt that sometimes the song were sung just to be sung. My...continued

Loved Constantine Maroulis' voice!!! Could listen to him sing for hours on end, but the musical, itself was very cheesy.

The show is AMAZING! We went on a Wednesday night and it was rockin, most of the audience was dressed in casual attire. We valet parked, which was great and didn't take long to get the car after the show. Ate at Anqi at South Coast, it was...continued

Sucks that Constantine wasn't performing that night. His understudy was just ok. Ths show was still hilarious anyway! Rear orchestra seats were pretty good.

While I am normally not a big fan of musicals, I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed Rock of Ages. Everyone in our group thought the energy was infectious. The performances were very strong and the humor was raunchy and robust. Highly recommended!

I saw the show at two Hollywood locations back in 2006 (thanks to Goldstar!) and was delighted to see the enhancements to the production since it went on to Vegas, then Broadway, before returning as part of a national tour.

I'd highly recommend...continued

Great show all the way around. It was a spoof and that't the way you can enjoy it.

Audience was great. Venue is lovely. Show was good. Our seats were compromised. Props blocked a clear view of the stage.

The venue and seats were very good, center tier 1. Parking was good, across the street at South Coast Plaza (even if it says no parking).
It was a rock musical, performers were full of energy, I loved the Journey songs, but not into some of the...continued

The show itself is a little cheesy but we had so much fun the audience participation is what makes it.

Very funny and nestogic for those of us who came of age in the 1980's. I doubt the movie will be half as good as this.

Great show. The music, costumes, set and acting were excellent. The crowd really got into the show as a group as well. A lot of fun!

Loud, raunchy, nostalgic, silly great time. I didn't even think I liked 80's hair metal but damn, it sounded great!
