To open their 61st season, the Philharmonic Society presents the London Philharmonic Orchestra and pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski. World-renowned since 1932, the London Philharmonic has a distinguished history of diverse programming and artistic excellence. In 2012, the orchestra performed as part of The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebration, and was also chosen to record all the world's national anthems for the London 2012 Olympics. They're also featured on the soundtracks of such blockbuster films as The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Lawrence of Arabia, Hugo and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Winner of Gramophone's 2014 Concerto award, pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet is celebrated for the breathtaking clarity of his performances. His extensive recordings have earned him several Gramophone awards and BBC Music Magazine awards, and he was named Artist of the Year at the 2012 International Classical Music Awards. Learn More
