Whale Watching Day Trip in Blue Whale Season

Full Price:
$45.00
Our Price:
$15.00

Blue whale season occurs each May through November, and on this two-hour day cruise, you can see them in all their majestic glory aboard a catamaran or one of Dana Wharf's other spacious vessels. Whaling in the 1900s caused a severe decline in the blue whale population along the Pacific coast; however, once hunting was banned, the blue whale population slowly began to recover. Approximately two thousand blue whales currently call the Pacific coast their home. These majestic creatures are the largest mammal on Earth and can grow to over 100 feet long. All cruises are narrated by seasoned captains who will educate you on the abundant ocean life along the coast. In addition to blue whales, you might see dolphins, sea lions and much more. Learn More

I'm a little spoiled because I've been whale watching in Santa Barbara and that was way cooler, but this was an excellent trip.

The catamaran isn't very big so you are able to get very close to dolphins and sea lions.

The crew is fantastic... they are all very nice and very helpful.

The sandwich, chips, and drink that come with the trip are a lot better than I expected (I expected pre-made sandwiches and a Capri Sun, I got a fresh, handmade sandwich and a Snapple).

And to top it all off, we saw 3 whales mate for 1.5 hours.
