One Night With Janis Joplin: 4th of July Fireworks & BBQ
- Full Price:
- $108.00
- Our Price:
- $105.00
One Night With Janis Joplin adds some actual Fourth of July fireworks to the musical ones produced on stage, with a post-show barbeque buffet on the Arena Stage terrace -- a prime viewing spot for the famed pyrotechnics launched on the National Mall. First up is the show, a part-concert, part-theatrical event that captures Janis Joplin's life and legacy in all its live intensity. Mary Bridget Davies stars as the rock legend in a performance that has audiences dancing in the aisles and critics raving. Featuring powerful musical numbers including "Piece of My Heart, "Summertime" and "Mercedes Benz," as well as one song Joplin never formally recorded, One Night boasts a full band and a cast including Sabrina Elayne Carten, who plays Bessie Smith, Etta James, Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone. After the performance, you'll move outside the theater for food and drinks, along with the fireworks viewing. Please see the full event description for the buffet menu. Learn More

Written on Oct 15 2012This was a great time. Something for everyone. Had some sinfully wonderful chocolate. Sampled chocolate soda, frozen hot chocolate, chocolate martini and (new favorite) Chocolais Wine!
Written on Oct 15 2012The event was a wonderful getaway for chocoholics young and Entertainment was provided for all ages! Samples were very limited, but it was still a great experience. The only concern that we had was that there was not clarity in where to go and the personnel at the entry way did not offer any assistance.
Written on Oct 15 2012TERRIBLE WASTE OF TIME
IMAGINE PAYING TO SAMPLE CHOCOLATE GIVEN IN MINUTE PORTIONS
THEN PAYING $20 FOR 12 OUNCES OF COFFEE !!!!
WAITING 20 MIN. TO BUY TOKENS FOR PURCHACES
Written on Oct 15 2012Great event for anyone who loves chocolate. And let's be serious, who doesn't?! The event was well laid out and fun for everyone. We are a family of 4 - the kids especially loved the chocolate fountain and then the marshmallow shooter. I liked that all the tasting items were affordable, they ranged from one chocolate coin to three. The chocolate coins are one dollars per coin.
Great time had by all. Thank you GoldStar for bringing us this event.

About the Ticket Supplier: The Festival of Chocolate
It all started with a plane trip ... and chocolate. A large-scale, award-winning event producer and a third-generation chocolatier started talking about how the perfect event would be one that was dripping in chocolate where no matter if you were 2 or 102 -- you would feel like a Kid in a Candy Store.
They agreed that the event would be completely chocolate-centric. It will support the small businesses who share their passion for quality, handmade products; the talented pasty chefs and chocolatiers whose artistry and skill make magic out of chocolate; and the groups that continue to educate about chocolate and bring all that is wonderful about chocolate directly to our guests to enjoy.
With a handshake and the ceremonial snap of a good piece of dark chocolate ... The Festival of Chocolate was launched.
