Ray Cooney's outrageous farce Run for Your Wife was a huge favorite on London's West End, where it enjoyed a nine-year run. Now the zany comedy travels across the pond so Denver audiences can enjoy the broad physical comedy and sassy adult humor. It's the story of British cabbie John Smith, who juggles two wives in two different areas of London. To maintain his double life, he has to keep a very precise schedule, which is thrown off-kilter when he's mugged and ends up in the hospital. When the police are given two different addresses for the victim, Smith must try to keep himself out of trouble with both of his wives, an upstairs neighbor and the cops. Learn More

Brilliant play, brilliant production. This is the best play I have seen in a long time (and I see about 80 plays a year), and it beats everything I've seen at the Denver Center Theatre Company this season (and I've seen everything there since I'm a subscriber). Excellent, excellent acting. And the play is not nearly as depressing as I thought it would be based on previous reviews. The way it's constructed is very clever and unique. The first half of the play is not really a play in the traditional sense, it's a sequence of short monologues or vignettes by the three protagonists, the mother, the killer and the psychologist. It's only in the second half that the playwright starts putting the pieces together and building interaction from the puzzle pieces that were laid out in the first half. The whole thing works extremely well and doesn't get boring or dragging for one single second. Each single monologue, vignette and scene is short and concise and gives the play a fast-paced feel that leaves you breathless. Highly recommended.
