A hit off-Broadway and internationally, Menopause The Musical comes to Gwinett Center. This funny and inspiring musical parody show that finds the humor in a woman's "change of life" is set to classic tunes from the '60s, '70s and '80s, and sports an all-female cast. The action takes place in a department store, where four women with seemingly nothing in common but a black lace bra meet by chance at a lingerie sale. They make fun of their woeful hot flashes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats and chocolate binges. A sisterhood is created among these diverse women as they realize that menopause is a shared experience and need not be suffered in silence.

Absolutely hilarious! Couldn't stop laughing. Favorite part was the "teddie" scene and Tina Turner. All the ladies were wonderful and have beautiful voices. Definitely a great gals night out. Wish I could see it again!

Quotes & Highlights

  • "Bring the waterproof mascara because you’ll laugh so hard, you’ll cry. With humor and compassion, writer, producer, and lyricist Jeanie Linders has captured the experiences of every woman in her 40s and 50s."--chicagocritic.com
  • "Linders' humorous new lyrics coupled to old favorites provide a good laugh. When the show ended, the entire audience was still clapping their hands to the final number, yelling and letting out whoops of approval."--Daily Californian
  • "'My Guy' becomes 'My Thighs,' 'I’m Sorry' transforms into 'I’m Flashing,' 'The Great Pretender' laments brain collapse, and 'A Sign of the Times' is 'looking in the mirror and seeing my mother.' Get the picture? It’s hilarious, good fun and the perfect destination for a girls’ treat out. (Judging from their guffaws, the handful of guys in the audience were enjoying it, too.)"--Baltimore Times-Herald
