"Lucky Stiff" is a fun, quirky musical with oddball characters, suspense, romance and a charming score. This production is well-cast and performed, but even though the band is small (three pieces) it's way too loud for the singers to be heard consistently - and the awkward scene changes break up the flow of the show. Nevertheless, it's a worth a look - especially at Goldstar prices!

If you need a good laugh, this is a good show for you. The story included comedy, love, and suspend. The theater is not that big. You can see all the expressions in every actor even you seat at last row. That means limited seating, if you want to see the show better pre-order the ticket.
For the performers: Annabel & Harry both have amazing voice. Luigi (Tony) has a good voice too. Love that Rita, she was hilarious funny.

Lucky Stiff was great fun--a fast-paced treat with lots of laughs. The leads had great voices and acting skills. They developed their characters well. The supporting cast did their parts well to maintain a fairly evenly balanced performance. The musical trio displayed their talents. I am glad I went and recommend the show for a delightful evening of entertainment.

Contra Costa Civic Theatre
Contra Costa Civic Theatre was founded in 1959 by Bettianne and Louis Flynn. Their vision was to establish a quality community theatre in El Cerrito . That that vision has been realized can best be summed up by what the East Bay Express recently wrote: "Contra Costa Civic Theatre . . . puts on comedies and musicals, mysteries and dramas from Sondheim to the Marx Brothers to Agatha Christie with unusually solid production values".
