Be there as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra plays works by two of music's greatest masters, and performs the premiere of an exciting new concerto. Brahms' magnificent First Symphony took the composer over a decade to write. The finished product was described by some 19th-century critics as "Beethoven's Tenth," as Brahms paid tribute to his idol with homages to Beethoven's Fifth and Ninth Symphonies. The concert opens with Beethoven's dramatic Leonore Overture No. 3. Richard Danielpour's Clarinet Concerto, co-commissioned by the NJSO and featuring soloist Anthony McGill, rounds out a stellar evening of music. Learn More
Saxophonist and composer Dave Koz has cemented his reputation as one of the most expressive artists in contemporary music. His January 2007 release, At The Movies, pays homage to classic film music and has been at the top of the charts with classics such as "Over The Rainbow," "Moon River," "As Time Goes By," "The Way We Were," "The Pink Panther" and "A Whole New World." This "double feature," will have Dave Koz , composer and pianist David Benoit , master of falsetto, Phil Perry and Razor & Tie recording artist, Kelly Sweet playing their respective hits during the first half of the show, then joining together on numerous selections from At The Movies.
