One of Rolling Stone's Greatest Guitarists of All Time, Johnny Winter recently passed away. Now, his brother, Edgar Winter, and an all-star lineup of 1960s blues-rock pioneers assemble to pay tribute to Johnny at the Rock 'N' Blues Fest. Get ready for blazing guitar work and electric grooves on jukebox hits like "Johnny B. Goode," "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo," "Hustled Down in Texas," "Free Ride," "Frankenstein," "You Keep Me Hangin' On," "Get Ready," "Train to Nowhere" and many more as the Edgar Winter Band, Vanilla Fudge, Rare Earth's Peter Rivera and Savoy Brown's Kim Simmonds hit the stage with a night of their greatest hits, plus renditions of Johnny Winter's most famous tunes. BergenPac is a huge barn of a theater. I really wish they would move people forward when good seats do not sell out. We saw Martin Short from the rear orchestra. There was a huge swath of seats in the front center orchestra sitting empty. Wouldn't Martin Short rather look out and see those seats full? Why not "upgrade" people and move them forward when they arrive at the theater? BergenPac never seems to have grasped this idea.Martin Short info • May 19 2014 star this tip starred

We loved Martin Short, and we would not have been able to afford to go without Goldstar tickets. He was mostly great--loved the Three volunteer-from-the-audience Amigos and the bagpipes. Did not like the political humor, especially the Bin Laden song...weird and out of place. Loved all the silly stuff, though, and Martin Short is incredibly talented. Would have liked him to sing a couple of Broadway songs that suit his personality.
