I enjoy this performance very much. The actors were very good, along with the singing and dancing, and it was a nice rendition of this story. The performance was for 90 minutes, with no intermission, but the time just flew by as it was an enjoyable perfomance!
If you enjoyed reading the book or the play or one of the movies, then you should see the musical version! The price for the ticket is well worth it, and it makes a nice outlet to relax and enjoy the show; taking your mind off the everyday problems.
While it is a drive to the theater from San Diego, make it a night out, but have dinner before you get to the theater as there are only limited places to eat at the resort. The seating was very good (almost center, row F) and the temperature was comfortable during the show.
And in the words of Tiny Tim, :God bless us everyone!"
Happy Holidays to all!
The brittle cold of a London Winter seems far removed from the glorious sunshine of Southern California, but Welk Resort Theatre plans to “Welkome” its full fury onstage for the Charles Dickens’ classic – A Christmas Carol: The Musical. How else do you freeze away the “humbug” in Ebenezer Scrooge!
The large cast will embrace Victorian splendor while reenacting the timeless story – a holiday crowd-pleaser in so much of the English-speaking world. The emotional sentiments promise to be heightened by the attractive melodies of Alan Menken, composer of such cherished family musicals as Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid. No grouches, please… we’re intent on wrapping the entire family with “tidings of comfort and Joy”!
