Called by playwright Edward Albee "the greatest American play ever written," this dramatization of small-town life has been adored by audiences ever since its debut. It's the story of young lovers George and Emily -- as well as their families, friends and neighbors -- as they grow up, fall in love and discover the inevitable darker sides of life in Grover's Corners. Narrated by the nameless Stage Manager and performed with minimal props or set, this groundbreaking play won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1938. Don't miss Wilder's classic illustration of the value of appreciating life's small moments. Learn More
The venue at The Patio Playhouse is casual but for myself being from the big city, I believe that when going to the theater to see professional artists, a more dressed up and neat attire rather than shorts/jeans is more respectful.13 Rue de l'Amour info • Jul 09 2014 star this tip starred

My husband and I were delighted with the production of An Ideal Husband performed by the Patio Playhouse cast. The acting was very professional and impressive, the staging very clever, and the theater itself was very pleasant. We have been to many "local theaters" and have never seen a better performance. Having also been to top professional venues internationally, we are somewhat picky but have no complaints as to the quality of this performance. The only slight drawback was if the actors were not facing the center seat section or directly towards our side section, it was sometimes difficult to hear. We strongly recommend going to see this play and we intend to go to others at the Patio Playhouse.
About the Ticket Supplier: Patio PlayhousePatio Playhouse was incorporated in November of 1967 to establish a theatre group for theatrical arts education and presentation. For over four decades, we've been building a community of playgoers and participants by providing affordable, quality entertainment and opportunities for people to take part in the production of award-winning shows.
We provide a venue where people from school age to seniors can participate in live drama, learn new skills, and enrich the quality of life in the community. Our Youtheatre introduces live theatre to school children by providing school performances.
We want to keep participation affordable and open to all in the community so, unlike some other theatres, we don't require audition or performance fees.
We have no salaried employees. All aspects of productions and theatrical management are performed by volunteers.
We're a federally chartered non-profit corporation supported solely by tax-deductible donations, membership dues and box office receipts.
Memberships at a variety of levels are available and form a big part of our support. By becoming a member, your tax-deductible donation helps promote good theatre experiences for playgoers and performers alike.
