The 25-year-old Russian has won awards at top piano competitions around the world, including the Honens International Piano Competition, the most lucrative contest in the world. His January 2104 debut at London's Wigmore Hall earned a rare five-star review from The Telegraph, and he's set to play upcoming dates at Carnegie Hall and with the London Philharmonic. Great band and very good guitarist. Fun to do the twist at our seats. More audience involvement, besides clapping, would be nice. Singers' mikes were set too low and never changed.
I'd cut a few songs and shorten the program. Hate to say this but the tenor tends to go flat; it makes me cringe.
This oldies but goodies stage show will take you back to the days when music was fun, the nights were cruisin, and the dancing never stopped! It's a salute to the music legends and greatest hits of the '50s and '60s presented in a live stage musical format.
The Cruisin' Oldies Show Band, fronted by tribute artists Mark W. Curran and Tom Haney, keeps the audience singing, clapping and laughing in this non-stop exciting show, which includes multiple costume changes and a unique, radio style narrative that tells the history of rock and roll - as it happened!
The '50s segment includes great songs like "Rock Around The Clock," "At The Hop," "Great Balls of Fire," "All Shook Up," "Pretty Woman," Peggy Sue" and "The Twist" - even an affectionate send up of the hit musical "Grease!" Artists include Elvis, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Dion and the Belmonts and Chubby Checker. There's also a nostalgiac look back at the at the great doo-wop and street corner harmony groups that built the foundation of rock and roll.
The 60's segment of the show covers the best of rock, pop, even a few psychedelic relics, revving into
overdrive with a special salute to sixties supergroups like The Beatles, ("Twist and Shout,") The Beach Boys ("I Get Around" ) and the Four Seasons ("Sherry").
There will also be a few guest stars and surprises you won't want to miss in this fun, family-style show, so bring the kids and grandparents alike! Grease back your hair, put on your bobby sox or just wear your love beads - this show is suitable for all ages!
