1940s-Style Slapstick Comedy in The Andrews Brothers at Welk Resorts
Welk Resort Theatre San Diego (Escondido, CA)
Rated 3.6 by 28 members who went.
Troops stationed in the South Pacific during WWII eagerly await a USO show starring the Andrews Sisters, only to get something much, much different in this slapstick comedy at Welk Resorts Theatre. The Andrews Brothers features big band music and plenty of goofy shenanigans reminiscent of Lucille Ball and the Bing Crosby/Bob Hope road moves.

Okay... you're in the South Pacific during WWII, anxiously awaiting the USO show. On the bill are the Andrews Sisters and a pin-up girl a la Betty Grable. Trouble ensues and... let's just say that you should be prepared for plenty of Lucille Ball shenanigans, some boogie-woogie antics and goofy hijinks reminiscent of the Bing Crosby/Bob Hope road movies. Then, slap some brassy big band music onto the slapstick and you'll be ready for The Andrews Brothers. Travel down memory lane while you "Ac-cen-tchu-ate the Positive"!
