Members Who Went Said:My only expectations was that the King would be bald. I guess since I saw "Brenner" when I was young I had a preconcieved idea. I do believe that it adds to the character of the king. My opinion. Our party was of six and all us us enjoyed the play immensity.
Joy DeMartino It was a wonderful production, the King was great!
Sandra Nolan Very enjoyable. Good singing and acting.

More Details About This Event: East versus West makes for a dramatic, richly textured and ultimately uplifting tale of enormous fascination. It is 1862 in Siam and having been summoned by the King to serve as a tutor to his many children and wives, an English widow, Anna Leonowens, and her young son arrive at the Royal Palace in Bangkok. The King is largely considered to be a barbarian by those in the West and he seeks Anna's assistance in changing his image, if not his ways. With both keeping a firm grip on their respective traditions and values, Anna and the King grow to understand and learn to respect each other in this truly unique love story. The dazzling score of this classic show includes "Getting To Know You" and "I Whistle A Happy Tune."
