Escondido's California Center for the Arts presents an all-new show featuring the best in big-band entertainment paying tribute to Glenn Miller and other vocalists. The 15-piece Tex Beneke Orchestra backs six top vocalists who've performed with the legendary orchestra leaders: The Pied Pipers (Tommy Dorsey Orchestra), Polly Podewell (Benny Goodman Orchestra), Michael Redmond (Lawrence Welk Orchestra), Cassie Miller (Harry James Orchestra), Madelyn Vegari (Ray Anthony Orchestra), and Jim Snodgrass (Tex Beneke Orchestra). In addition, Broadway, concert and television star Carol Lawrence will perform her award-winning concert act. Founding member of the Four Lads Frank Brusseri hosts.

We loved this show.. very entertaining.. great vocalists. wonderful band...only downside was we wished there was a grand finale with all the performers coming out for a final bow... (also..maybe the set could have been a bit more dressed.)Written on Apr 02 2012
