What's funnier than sitting through another Christmas Carol? What costs less than a single ticket to The Nutcracker? Bringing your whole crew to Next Theatre's irreverent holiday musical! It's a fun, inexpensive night out that your whole family will enjoy. If you've got folks in town to entertain, this is your ticket to success!
The actual teachings of The Church of Scientology are explained and dissected against the candy-colored backdrop of a traditional nativity play in this musical where avant-garde performance art and children's theater meet.
Artistic Director Jason Southerland is delighted at this opportunity to reunite with his frequent artistic collaborator and friend Kyle Jarrow to present this holiday comedy in a revised production. This updated version, which the two developed together in Boston and Southerland helmed at Boston Theatre Works in 2006, features four additional musical numbers and several new scenes and characters. Jarrow wrote the songs after the success of the New York production and teamed up with Southerland to revise the script and score for exclusive use by Southerland.
