Well-reviewed at the prestigious 2010 Edinburgh Theater Festival, The Girl in the Yellow Dress is set in current-day Paris, and explores the relationship between a recently-transplanted British woman and the French-Congolese man who comes to her for English-language lessons. Sexual flirtations give way to class and racial frictions in this increasingly disquieting atmosphere, which examines the use -- and misuse -- of language itself as a way to wield power. Carrie Coon and Austin Talley star in South African playwright Craig Higginson's drama.

A heavy dialogue play, not much action, direction middling but not superb. Make sure to get there 15 minutes early - once they've started they'll put you in late seating, and there's no intermission. Also it's not listed but the building is called Noyes Cultural Arts Center and is not very clearly marked - entrance is around the back on the East side.Written on Jan 30 2012

A complex, carefully written play - you had to carefully listen to every word and intonation. For the attentive playgoer an excellent experienceWritten on Feb 28 2012

I enjoyed the play. Thought acting was very good. Good chemistry between 2 actors. Interesting and loaded with conversation starters in many contoversial areas. this would have been a good play to have a conversation with professionals related to play and audience.Written on Feb 19 2012

Quotes & Highlights
- “Higginson is clearly gifted. He not only filters pressing concerns about race, prejudice and power through a highly charged two-hander, but he wraps it all up in a witty discourse about language itself.” --Daily Telegraph
