This play was TRULY dreadful.
Iy must have happened when the author was
sick, and only just starting out.
It was truly the most banal, boring play I have
EVER endured

The actors were fantastic, but the play itself was sort of slow.

My boyfriend is a huge Mamet fan, so he thoroughly enjoyed this show. He said his cheeks hurt he was smiling and laughing so much. I'm not as familiar with Mamet's work, but I had a great time. The individual performances were spectacular.

I think it helps to be a little familiar with Mamet's writing style before seeing this play. I recommend watching the movie "Wag the Dog"; my boyfriend, "Glengarry Glen Ross".

Description

Directed by Travis Hammer

A funny and insightful skewering of his own profession with wit, humor, and a joy of language only Mamet can provide.

Arthur, an old writer, is losing his edge. He hires a younger writer to help get the juices flowing, while an outrageous cleaning woman periodically pops in to comment, expound, and provide her own pearls of wisdom.

Starring Vicki Lewis, Don Oscar Smith, and Ben Messmer, Mamet’s gem of a play provides a rare and wonderful evening of theatre that comically explores creativity, the horror of lost talent, and the pain of loneliness through a series of reversals and heart-rending moments that only a master like Mamet can create.
