Violinist Daniel Hope and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra perform a concert entitled hope. They'll perform works by Erwin Schulhoff and Kurt Weill, both of whom were silenced by Germany's Nazi regime. This tribute to art and perseverance holds special significance for both Hope and conductor Jeffrey Kahane, whose families were affected by Nazi rule. Learn More

The Alex Theatre is a historic, cultural and artistic treasure. Designed by architects Charles R. Selkirk and Arthur G. Lindley, the Alexander, as it was originally known, opened as a Vaudeville and silent movie theatre and later had a long career as a first run movie and major preview house. The theatre reopened in 1993 as a performing arts and entertainment venue.
For the fifth year in a row, the Alex Theatre will feature some of the very best of the Three Stooges' classic Columbia short subjects. In addition to enjoying the pristine 35mm prints, you can bet on wacky entertainment and surprises from start to finish. Enjoy the Three Stooges as they were meant to be seen--on the big screen!
