Written by one of Atlanta's theatrical talents, these thought-provoking one-act plays from Rising Sage Theatre Company examine what it means to be a black man in America and look at the aftermath of gun violence. Chainz tells the story of four men who meet in a police station holding cell following the protest of a young teen's death. Their discussion turns inward as the men discuss being an endangered species in America. Broken centers on five women who have all lost a child to gun violence. Together they search for strength after experiencing such an intense loss. Playwright Paris Crayton was recently named to ArtsATL's 30 Under 30 list. Learn More

This was our first time to attend a Southside event. It is a small local theatre so if you are expecting a big, glitzy, lavish production, then this is not for you. With that said, The Best Christmas Pageant ever was very well done and we were very happy we drove the 50 miles to see it. The ensemble, which is 90 percent children, was excellent. We were impressed with the professionalism of the cast and the staff at the theatre. I would recommend this show to anyone who would like to see a good production of a Wonderful Christmas classic. I would also recommend that you enjoy your pre-theatre meal at the 92 Pizza restaurant next door to the theatre. It also was a treat.
