A whimsically heartfelt fable about love and death, this play by Philip Dawkins follows the destinies of the Fail family in 1928 Chicago. Free-spirited Nelly, tomboy Jenny June and the responsible Gerty are the daughters of immigrant clock-makers, promising young women ready to strike out on their own. Their fates change after they meet a sweetly sincere suitor, Mortimer, and then their makers, one after the other, in a series of unfortunate events. This funny, wise play has won kudos from critics for its delightful humor and moving message. Learn More

Very enjoyable play - excellent writing, great acting, very cool costumes and use of multi-media (particularly for "The Wall"). This type of "magical realism" is not staged often enough. However, the seats were extremely uncomfortable - I strongly urge bringing cushions with you.
Due to language, A Man, His Wife, and His Hat is suitable for ages 16 and up.
