Buy your own tickets if you want good seats. Gold Star assigned us Roq Q on an angle which created a crick in my neck and this morning I still suffer the effects. I don't understand why , when there were so many empty rows and seats in the center and closer....

April 9, 2013: Oscar Peterson Tribute Featuring Lenore Raphael

A “Tribute to Oscar Peterson” features jazz pianist Lenore Raphael with an ensemble of jazz sidemen: Chuck Bergeron on bass, Roger King Jr. on drums and Howard Alden on guitar. Lenore is "one of the baddest pianists out there today, " says Jon Hendricks. A Steinway artist, Raphael performs in major international jazz festivals, on jazz cruises, in jazz clubs and jazz venues worldwide. She has also been a featured artist on Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz on public radio. Lenore produces her own radio show on the Pure Jazz Radio station.

May 14, 2013: Stan Getz Tribute Featuring Billy Ross

Local tenor saxman, Billy Ross, will be featured in this tribute concert to the great tenor sax player, Stan Getz. Ross is a former member of the Woody Herman band and enjoyed three stints with the Herman Herds, sitting in the sax seat previously held by giants Getz, Gene Ammons, Al Cohn, Zoot Sims and Flip Phillips. Bob Weinstock, founder of Prestige Records, produced Ross’s tribute recording to Stan Getz, The Sound: A Tribute to Stan Getz. For this concert, Ross will be backed by members of the Gold Coast Jazz Society Band led by Martin Hand.
