Soul Sound Productions presents the one-act musical Once On This Island. Set in the French Antilles, the show, with book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty, combines elements of both Romeo and Juliet and The Little Mermaid. A retelling of the legend of the relationship between a peasant girl and a rich city boy whom she saves from death, the calypso-tinged production is filled with music, joy and love. The 1990 Broadway production received Tony Award nominations for Best Choreography, Best Original Score and Best Musical, and the 1994 West End production won the Olivier Award for Best Musical.

VERY ENTERTAINING, BUT YOUR FEMALE SINGERS WERE LACKING AND EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MIKED. THIS WAS THE CALIBER OF A DECENT HIGH SCHOOL PRODUCTION.
