Based on the classic film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot is the bonkers musical parody of the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, as only England's most famous comedy troupe could tell it. Written by Monty Python member Eric Idle, Spamalot racked up 14 Tony Award nominations in its original Broadway run. With killer rabbits, beautiful showgirls and rude Frenchmen, plus songs like "I Am Not Dead Yet," "Run Away!" and "The Song That Goes Like This," it might just be the most absurd show ever to win Tony's Best Musical. I thought it was just an okay production - not as good as ones I've seen in the past. Acting uneven - some actors stronger than others. Seemed like there was some intensity and excitement missing. Perhaps part of the problem lay with the way the play is written.
Directed by Bob Feugate
