A boisterous and uplifting portrait of love in a nontraditional family, La Cage aux Folles has been one of Broadway's biggest hits. Georges and Albin, a gay couple who run and star in a popular drag show, find their domestic peace shattered when their son brings his prospective in-laws home to meet the folks. The would-be father-in-law happens to be the head of a conservative party that wants to shut down the drag show. The lively and glittering spectacle that ensues celebrates family values, unconditional love and, above all, the need to be proud of who we are. The show, which was adapted into the popular movie The Birdcage starring Robin Williams, features gorgeous costumes, fabulous dance numbers and a wonderful Jerry Herman score, including "The Best of Times" and "I Am What I Am." If you think you'd like to see the Muppets do Shakespeare, then this play is for you! I go for that kind of entertainment, so I'm all in on this show. This isn't Hamlet, but rather a puppet show that's based on Hamlet. It takes some of the best known scenes from the play and presents them, sometimes incongruously, with slapstick, silly props, and impromptu asides to the audience. The result is quite entertaining.

A great mix of improv humor and audience participation, while not losing the "heart" of Hamlet. I had a great time and would go see it again. If you like theater that is a little "out of the ordinary", I highly suggest you check this out.
See the passion. Witness the glory. Behold the puppets? The All Puppet Players present Shakespeare’s immortal classic like you’ve never seen it before. Hamlet Has No Legs is a re-imagined, off the wall version of Hamlet with each character played by a puppet. This marks The All Puppet Players premiere show and we’re sure you’ll agree that once you see Hamlet like this, you’ll never want to see it any other way.
A hit during an earlier run at the Empire Theatre, Hamlet Has No Legs returns with the same cast.
