Discover the heart of American music with I Love a Piano, a stirring musical that pays tribute to Irving Berlin, one of the greatest songwriters of all time. This inventive show has found an entertaining way of showcasing 60 of Berlin's iconic classics that span more than 70 years, ranging from "Blue Skies," "Puttin' on the Ritz," "Cheek to Cheek" to "Annie Get Your Gun" and culminating with legendary songs such as "White Christmas" and "God Bless America." This musical celebration is framed within the unique journey of a piano as it makes its way through history and touches dozens of lives along the way. The human stories that unfold illustrate how expertly Berlin captured the heart of a nation from the days of Ragtime through two World Wars and the eras of prosperity that followed. With a snappy energy that builds momentum from overture to final curtain, I Love a Piano is also highlighted by moments of quiet reflection on the gentler parts of human nature that Berlin knew so well. As renowned composer Jerome Kern once said, Irving Berlin had "no place in American music -- he is American music."

Parade: Award-Winning Musical About a Real-Life Murder

Full Price:

COMP - $36.00

3-D Theatricals presents Parade, based on the real life murder of 13-year-old Atlanta factory worker Mary Phagan in 1913. When a girl's body is found in the basement of the factory where she works, police suspicion falls first on a black employee, then on Jewish foreman Leo Frank. The media, an enraged public and a politician who wants to put the matter to rest spur an overzealous prosecutor to solicit false testimony from witnesses, leading to Frank's conviction. After the verdict, the governor realizes that something was amiss and looks into the trial, but it may be too late for Leo Frank. Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Alfred Uhry with music by Jason Robert Brown, this true crime musical is part courtroom drama, part social commentary -- and completely compelling. What talent! What energy! It was wonderful, especially the "I Can Do Anything Better Than You" song. Great, great tribute to Irving Berlin. Smooth transitions from song to song -- an amazing feat!
