Written by Argentinian-Chilean novelist and playwright Ariel Dorfman, this play poses questions of justice and forgiveness. Are there crimes for which there can be no forgiveness? And if there is no chance for forgiveness, how do we move on with our lives? In Purgatorio, a man and a woman enter a sparse room and questions are asked that unveil the truths of their lives. Dorfman's tight script and evocative language help renew the story of Jason and Medea, presenting an inquiry into human relationships to audiences in a whole new light.

Ghost Story and The Experiment: Two Haunting Short Plays

Full Price:
$20.00
Our Price:
$10.00

STAGEStheatre performs Ghost Story and The Experiment, short plays by Mark Ravenhill, the English playwright best known for the controversial black comedy Shopping and F***king. The afterlife, the battle between life and death, and the steps we'll take to stay alive all feature in this haunting pair of stories. Ghost Story tells about one woman dying of cancer and another who promises to heal her. Time bends back and forth as they pursue their quest and discover that the world is full of ghosts. The Experiment poses the question: If you could cure thousands of a fatal disease by experimenting on a single child, would you do it? Learn More

Two person play about evil & redemption. Started out a little slow, but with all the twists & turns, it quickly got our attention & kept it throughout. Another fine performance from Stages!

Amy Lauren Gettys and Joseph Tostado truly made this show worth seeing. It is one of the few performances that I have seen recently where the characters were real people and not actors trying to be their characters. It felt like they were experiencing each moment for the first time along with the audience. Unfortunately, the direction and technical elements left something to be desired.
Otherwise, this is definitely an interesting show to figure out the puzzle which is Purgatorio.

This intimate setting and powerful production by two outstanding actors was well worth the experience.
