Production quality was very poor. Major audio problems. Cast members ran into each other. Left at intermission.

From the start, the microphones kept going on and off which was very annoying. That also made it difficult to figure out what was going on. The costuming was too simplistic - our preschool-aged children couldn't figure out what characters the actors were trying to portray. For example, Horton the elephant, wore grey slacks, shoes, and a grey dress shirt. Kids need to see some big ears or a trunk on an elephant! When they can't figure out the characters and hear the words, it's impossible for kids to figure out the storyline. In all honesty, the best part was the singing - everyone had great voices, but only when you could hear them! The first act seemed to go on forever, but we bravely stuck it out and watched the entire show, while our friends, also with preschool aged children, left a few minutes after act II began.

The huge, well rehearsed, and very talented cast made me feel that I was enjoying a first rate Broadway show. If was vert colorful and fast paced and the music was wonderful.
I took my 6 year old grandson and he was entranced--we had read all the Dr. Suess books in preparation. Afterward and during intermission, he was very interested in reading about all the actors and their bios that were listed in the program.
Bravo!!

The performers were very talented for college and high school level. Obviously these are individuals focused on a performing career, but I was impressed. My kids wanted to buy the soundtrack right away. The venue is easily accessible, and small enough that all seats are good. I would definitely return.

The props were amazing! The costumes were phenomenal! And the energy levels were out of this world! Great choreography and some really talented actors/actresses. It was a great show, you just can't go wrong with Dr. Seuss!

Wonderful performance. The scenography, the music, costumes and the actors themselves were amazing. Mostly college students and children - did a great job. Me & my little girl loved it!

Although the first act dragged a bit, really a great show! Went opening night with 8-yr-old and the audience was really responsive. Nice singing voices, actors weren't always enunciating enough to understand all the words, but mostly did great work with their characters. A technically high-quality show (Disneyland-esque) with lots of technical spectacle. Cute story of mostly Horton the Elephant (Hatches an Egg & Hears a Who) with some really fun music. Colorful set and costumes. Only complaint is the microphones not always being on and missing some of the lyrics of the story because of it.
In the end, the kids were excited for cast autographs after the show and want to see it again.

Our first experience with MTOC was last year with their production of Joseph which we absolutely were thrilled with. This year's production was very good to and we all enjoyed it. It was nice to see the young man who played the "Cat" again and see how he's matured since last summer's performance. The sets were very "Seussical" and the performers were great. Unfortunately there were a few sound problems - although when "Gertrude's" mic went out we were amazed at how well she projected her voice so that we could hear her in the back.
Our seats were lined up near center stage near the back but unfortunately we were just to the front/side of the stage lights which glared on our left side and were distracting in some scenes. Since there were three almost empty rows in front of us it a shame that this row Q was used.

The actors were good, especially the one who played Horton. The one and only complaint I have is that although the character who played Horton was amazing he was not wearing a costume. Other than that my kids and I had a great time!

It was fantastic! I took my 10 yr. old nephew and 4 year old niece and they were speechless and attentive. They absolutely loved it. The stage setting, costumes, singing, and acts were professionally done. Dr. Seuss was absolutely hilarious jumping in and out of acts being silly. He made us laugh alot. Getting to meet the characters and get their autographs after the play ended was a plus. They were friendly and the kids were thrilled to have their programs signed by them. Great idea! This play is entertaining and a memorable experience for adult and kids. I would go and see it again. It's well worth it!

More Details
Based on the books of Dr. Seuss, Seussical debuted on Broadway in 2000, with a score by the lyricist-composer team behind Ragtime. The musical begins when Horton the Elephant endeavors to protect the adorable Jojo and the people of Whoville, who live on a tiny speck of dust. The Wickersham Monkeys and the Sour Kangaroo find Horton's claim that he is protecting the tiny Whos ridiculous, and have a grand time teasing him throughout the show.
Seussical also features characters and scenarios from many other Seuss books, including the Grinch; the bird Gertrude McFuzz, who longs for a fluffier tail; and The Cat in the Hat, an outside observer who acts as narrator and devil's advocate throughout the show, briefly leaping into the action on several occasions to create conflict and keep the story moving.
The show is delightful and full of laughs--charming and enjoyable for all ages.
